RSVP Information
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program, or RSVP, has come to Jones Regional Medical Center! The mission of RSVP is to engage people 55 and older in volunteer services to meet critical community needs that impact and benefit citizens of all ages while providing a high quality experience that will enrich the life of the volunteer.
RSVP has expanded its service area to include Jones County thanks to grants provided by the St. Luke's rural healthcare foundation and the United Way of East Central Iowa.
The Jones County RSVP is sponsored by St. Luke's Hospital and Jones Regional Medical Center . The RSVP office is located at Community Health of Jones County, 104 Broadway Pl. , Anamosa, across the parking lot from Jones Regional.
Barbara Hoffman is the program specialist in Jones County . Currently RSVP is recruiting volunteers to visit nursing home residents, provide transportation, serve on the Jones County Task Force and deliver meals. The organization is also looking for individuals who would be willing to serve on the RSVP Advisory Council or be trained to serve as a SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) volunteer.
As the program grows and staff members become aware of additional needs in the area, they will add volunteer opportunities.
RSVP volunteers receive an orientation to the program and training specific to their volunteer job. In addition to being covered by RSVP's insurance while they are serving, volunteers receive ongoing assistance and support with their volunteer placement, are invited to attend an annual recognition and are also eligible for mileage reimbursement.
