Q. Why don't I get an itemized statement with my bill?
A. In an attempt to control rising costs of healthcare, most hospitals no longer send itemized statements.
Q. How do I know what my bill is for?
A. Call the Business Office at Jones Regional, (319) 462-6131. If you would like an itemized statement you may request one by phone or in person.
Q. Is there a charge for this?
Q. Can I pay my bill at Jones Regional?
A. Yes, just include the bottom portion of your statement and mail or bring it to the hospital.
Q. Is the billing done at Jones Regional?
A. We enter the charges at Jones Regional but the actual claim is sent to the appropriate insurance company by our Central Billing Office at Iowa Health System in Des Moines.
Q. You billed the wrong insurance company. Who do I call to get this corrected?
A. You can either call the phone number on your statement, (877) 357-4356 or Jones Regional (319) 462-6131.
Q. I was seen in the Emergency Room and received two statements for this visit. Why two?
A. You received a statement from the hospital for the services performed in the ER. You also received a statement from the physician you saw in the ER.
Q. What if I cannot pay the full amount of my bill when I receive my statement?
A. Call the phone number on your statement (877) 357-4356. They will be happy to set up a payment plan for you.
Q. Can I set up an automatic withdrawal from my checking account or pay by debit card?
A. Yes. Although these options are not available at Jones Regional, you can call the phone number on your statement, (877) 357-4356, and they will be happy to take care of this for you.
Q. Can I pay by credit card?
A. Yes, Mastercard, VISA and Discover can be used at Jones Regional.
Q. Who do I talk to about my ambulance bill?
A. You can call Jones Regional (319)462-6131 and ask for the ambulance office.
Q. Who do I call if I have a complaint regarding the service I received at Jones Regional?
A. You may either call Jones Regional (319) 462-6131 during regular business hours or the phone number on your statement (877) 357-4356. If you call the number on your statement and make the complaint to them, they will forward the complaint to Jones Regional the next business day for appropriate follow-up.
