Swing - Private Pay

Jones Regional Medical Center's Swing - Private Pay service provides comprehensive care for those who are ill or injured or those who can no longer take care of their personal needs or need assistance with their personal needs.

Patients in an Acute Nursing Unit are checked frequently by a nurse. When their health improves and they are admitted to Swing - Private Pay Care, patients are checked as needed.

Teamwork

Jones Regional staff believes in a team approach to healing, with the patient being at the center of the team. Staff encourages the patient's family to become involved in the healing process and to assist in meeting the patient's needs. Together the team, including the patient and family, develop discharge goals and a plan of care. The team works together to help the patient meet his or her goals and to attain his or her peak level of functioning. Intermediate Care provides the setting and care needed so the patient can return home or to a long-term care setting safely and confidently. Our care team includes:

  • Patient and family
  • Nursing staff
  • Physician(s)
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Speech therapists

Recovery

Recovery is the main focus for patients in Swing - Private Pay Care. Family and friends are welcome any time and play an important role in healing and recovery. Patients may arrange for special celebrations and/or parties for such things as holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, or other special days. Patients in Swing - Private Pay Care eat lunch family style in Jones Regional's day room on weekdays. They also participate in activities reflecting their interests and abilities. These may include arts and crafts, games, music, sports, and other hobbies.

Swing - Private Pay Care is private pay only. Payment is expected on a weekly basis. Medications are dispensed from Jones Regional or Pharmacy Care Center. Pharmaceuticals are billed separately. Additional procedures, such as lab work, x-rays, or rehabilitation, may be billed to the patient's insurance company as an outpatient procedure, depending on the insurance.

Sean Williams Elgin Lester, Lifeguard Air Ambulance Helicopter Pilot
Emergency Department
"The emergency room team worked together so well. They were prepared to take care of my immediate needs when I arrived. There wasn't a wasted motion in the ER. I was so impressed with the efficiency and the way the ER worked! As an air ambulance pilot, I've seen it all, and for a smaller hospital to have everything lined up and orchestrated so well, it was comforting to me as I was going through this. I was in a lot of pain, but they took care of me. I've always thought they did a great job here in Anamosa, but I really understand the true meaning of 'They saved my life' now."
- Elgin Lester, Anamosa, former heart attack patient at Jones Regional
